Over the past month or so I’ve been trying to sort through photographs on my phone and computer. That process awakened my curiosity as to why there are so many photos of pathways, bridges, stairways and trails. After thinking about it for a few days, I feel that it’s me choosing to move forward, to achieve more, to keep learning and continue growing.

The three Frida paintings are complete and I’m quite pleased with how they turned out. I did a lot of reading while I was working on these because I wanted to learn more about her life and art. It’s always fascinating to dig deeper into the life of the artist because it allows for better understanding of their art.

This morning, after work stuff is complete, I will begin work on a submission for a magazine cover contest. The concept is planned and overall it should be a fairly easy painting except for the ‘hands’ of the subject. Body parts are challenging for me but I am determined to become better with practice. Also in the works is a commission I received for a desert landscape, totally excited about that. More pics will be posted as it comes together so check back. Peace be with you.
