Art style

no rules just art
Beautiful things are never perfect

Is having and ‘art style’ important? Some artist’s create in a certain art style or technique and I think that is fantastic if the love is there. Other artist’s paint what sells and that’s great too, after all, they’re making money, but are they enjoying their process? Art for me is a meditation, a happy place and a way to communicate my impulses to my canvas. When I sit down to paint, rarely do I have a plan, rather I choose to be guided intuitively and see what appears. Photography is a hobby as well so occasionally I will paint from a photograph. Selling art is exciting don’t get me wrong but the importance of retaining my love of the process is greater. Creating art for any other reason would be at the expense of my happiness. I would love to hear what others think.
